Starpery has once again caused a stir in the industry with its latest innovation that makes its models considerably lighter. Called Weight Reduction 4.0 or Super Weight Reduction and currently available on their silicone dolls only.
This promising technology solves a problem that every doll owner knows: the difficulty of handling a heavy doll. Do you want a woman's body but need to reconsider your height and shape requirements because your doll is too heavy?
Starpery has once again come up with an innovative solution to this problem. Below is a video of the 85G torso in super weight reduction 4.0, with its softness and textures at a weight of just 14.5 kg!
Searching for the Grail
Since 2022 Starpery is focusing part of its staff on research and development in order to find an alternative to current weight reduction. Here's a post explaining the process.
The epic body of the beautiful Rozanne, pictured below, was chosen as the first model for research. New design, new molds, the first trials were, as is often the case in R&D, disastrous. Although the doll was lighter, new problems arose, such as overly pronounced mold lines and major defects, such as holes, porosity, difficulty for the silicone to spread properly, and lack of thickness in certain places, leading to tears.
After a year of research Starpery has overhauled its processes and introduced a new foam core allowing for greater skin thickness, guaranteeing a stronger, softer and above all lighter doll.
The optimum compromise is found and the super weight reduction 4.0 is born.
Deploying Weight Reduction 4.0 across the range
With the success of the magnificent 172F body, Starpery is now rolling out its new technology on the following bodies: torso 85G and dolls 148F, 151B, 156E, 161H, 163G, 165G, 169C, 171A, 171D, 172F, 174C and 176F. The table below shows the spectacular weight reduction achieved by Super Weight Reduction 4.0.
Starpery: always innovating
As everyone knows, the silicone dolls from Starpery are astonishingly realistic. They also pioneered weight reduction on TPE dolls. This technique, previously reserved for cold-cast silicone dolls, seemed impossible to implement on hot-cast TPE dolls.
The main problem was that, at too high a temperature, the TPE melted the weight-reducing foam during casting. This technology had already been tried in the past by several manufacturers, without success. Starpery did.
In the same spirit, there was a time when nobody believed in TPE bodies with silicone heads, the famous hybrid dolls. Having the softness of TPE and an ultra-realistic face didn't work, and caused unexpected reactions in the neck of TPE bodies on contact with silicone. Here again Starpery has demonstrated that it can be done.
It's now a standard adopted by almost all brands.
Why is Weight Reduction 4.0 revolutionary?
We're talking about a 170 cm plus doll that literally weighs less than 30 kg. A considerable weight loss for a real woman's body, more softness, more texture, less compromise. Thanks to Starpery, now users can enjoy an enhanced experience, with silicone dolls that are much easier to manage, while preserving the ultra-realistic touch, feel and visual appeal.
