But is the advent of bot sex dolls really just around the corner?

When you think sex bot, a few images immediately spring to mind, and you can already see yourself in Blade Runner 2049 or Ex-Machina.
We just hope the smart Ava doesn't plunge mankind to its doom!
The good news is that, for the moment, the T1000 gynoid isn't about to arrive. To date, Skynet is called Google, Chat GPT creates nothing and Replika goes round in circles after 2 hours.
As far as sex robots are concerned, the most advanced to date is Harmony from the Real Doll company. This video is enough on its own to make you aware of what's currently being done in terms of bot sex.
In a nutshell, it's a bit like discovering fire. We can now cook meat, but we're still a long way from a gourmet restaurant like "the holographic woman who always says what you want to hear".
Sex robot - Movements and motorization
For the moment, the sex robot is limited to jerky movements by the cervo motors that animate them, as shown in the video quoted above.
We're closer to the RC electric car, which uses a lot of energy to do very little, but we're making progress.
At the pinnacle of the food chain is this robot, with its fluid, realistic movements! What about the price?

In sexdolls, it's the lower belly that's making its debut, with Irontech in particular offering this kind of option. Others are more cautious, such as Zelex with its famous contraction system found on several brands of silicone dolls.
On the TPE adult doll side,, WM dolls has quickly followed suit and has also taken to the “sucking vagina”.
These sex robot functions are very attractively priced on the Chinese side, but it remains to be seen how long they will last in terms of reliability.
Conversational AI
In terms of Artificial Intelligence, one of the most accomplished AIs for conversing and exchanging with your Tamagochi d'amour is Replika. GPT Chat is now on the attack, and tomorrow? China's Deepseek artificial intelligence is already showing promising results.
To date, however, the Turing test has been invalidated after just two minutes, but you have to start somewhere, as they say. The Replika AI, now almost obsolete, will still be impressive when released before 2020, even if we're still left wanting more.
It's a safe bet that the big innovations in Artificial Intelligence will, as always, come from a GAFAM or a Chinese company. Companies with fewer regulations on data collection, which leave little hope for European companies.
For the moment, sex bot-wise, there's still plenty of room for improvement, so I'll leave you with these film and TV titles as an appetizer if you want to open your stomach.
