A new year begins, new trends emerge and it's time for the Ava Love Doll team to wish you all the best for 2023. We'd also like to say a big thank you to all our customers, to the hyper-connected of Discord with whom to discuss dolls on a daily basis.
Thank you all for your support, and let's start the new year with joy and optimism, because in dolling there are improvements, but no inflation! So, what's the trend for 2023? New options - technology, that's what we're going to see today.
A silicon tsunami
The trend starts in 2020, the TPE doll market is over-copied, and manufacturers have to move upmarket to survive, as supply and demand dictate. Starpery has made a big splash, despite a few setbacks with the first range made exclusively of TPE body and silicone head. Note that Starpery also produces dolls 100 % silicone.
Gradually we saw Piper Doll to the point of almost forgetting its epic TPE. Irokebijin from the same company soon followed, bringing us the new cute stars Akane, Abby and Shiori.
Week after week, Irontech pours out voluptuous curves that make the eyes bleed, Elsa Babe has made a name for itself in the cute and even WM dolls (that's saying something). Makes you wonder what all the fuss is about.
Prices have melted like snow in the sun, and silicone dolls are now mainstream and barely more expensive than their TPE counterparts. The trend is definitely towards silicone for 2023.

And no, the dolls Zelex have no lungs, yet in the video below, they're smoking.
Let's be clear, when I talk about lungs, I'm talking about those that breathe in and out, as at WM Doll with its breathing system that you may have missed.

At Zelex, we love innovation and know how to take risks with new things that move the dollsphere forward. They're the first to launch a vaginal contraction system for Christmas 2022. But what? You read that right! But did you see?

It didn't take long for others to follow, as Irontech silicone dolls could be fitted with them as early as the following month.
Irontech in sex bot mode
There's no stopping progress, you might say! The system already existed in other manufacturers such as SEDoll offering a single model equipped with the option. Irontech doesn't pull any punches, and applies them to its entire range of TPE and silicone dolls.
The option is, as is often the case with dolls, not guaranteed on electronics, but it's hot!
Irontech system details
The system operates exclusively on mains power. The charging connector can be positioned wherever you like. Just let us know when you place your order, or when you check it before production. It is equipped with a remote control allowing you to choose from several programs.
The video doesn't give any idea of the motorization noise, but unsurprisingly it's not inaudible. Note that the "motorized sex bot" option is not compatible with vaginal contraction, a choice will have to be made on one of the options.

Complete articulated mouth (ROS, moving jaw)
You may have missed this news item from the summer of 2022, when Zelex, for once, launched its assault on the ROS head with moving jaw via the brand Game Lady. Produced by the factory that makes Zelex, the GL11 Tifa head triggers doll lover euphoria with a full, finely reproduced mouth.
There's always room for improvement, but at Ava Love Doll we thought it was a real revolution. No big surprise, the technology already existed, but with no marketing clout, nobody cared. Thanks Zelex!
It's a new standard that's set to become the standard of the future.
Very naturally Future Doll, WM and recently Irontech followed. At the time of writing, the Irontech S34 head has not yet been officially released, but here's a short video preview.
Note that the commissures are fragile, be gentle with your dolls and don't do it at home.
Nevertheless, let's give credit where credit is due. Quickly declined at Zelex, the best-selling heads were gradually converted one after the other, and miracle ... A new range appeared: the Inspiration Series, which I describe in detail below, read this post.
Silicone doll, the hardest part is over!
Let's face it, just a few years ago, silicone dolls weren't exactly the stuff of dreams. We were close to Madame Tussauds Museum for a modest 5 to 10,000 euros.
But that's all over and done with - by 2022, silicone will be massively soft! Once again, everyone's going for it, and not without some collateral damage: increased tearing rates and make-up that fades faster, difficulty implanting eyelashes, eyebrows and pubic hair.
For hair, it's even illusory.
Heads - soft bodies, gel butts & finger piercing
In this changing industry, the molders of TPE sex doll have become the customers of silicone doll manufacturers. Some adjustments are on the way, given the very different uses that can be expected of a silicone or TPE doll.
Three years ago, if you wanted to avoid breaking your d*ick, it was strongly recommended to stick to TPE dolls. The silicone doll, hard and rigid, served as a living-room statue. As solid as a tire, it could remain in one position for months without any problem.
But that was before... Silicone dolls now make soft kisses with their soft heads.
Articulated hands - Just one finger please
No more copper wire in 2023! All but the UFO Piper Doll did. Nevertheless, it was the first manufacturer to implement hard hands and feet as standard on its entire range of silicone dolls.
The objective? Stand without screws underfoot, and drastically reduce the rate of finger piercing.
It's your first doll and the sight of screws makes your skin crawl. You don't want that at home! Read anyway this post in doubt.
More precision fingers positioning , more prominent phalangeal folding and natural. Although still perfectible, the articulated finger option so eagerly awaited by many doll lovers is gradually becoming the norm.
You're not dreaming, even the pregnant belly can be gel-filled with Irontech.
Hard feet - A few details
Anyone who has handled dolls at all knows that the bulk of the the mass is concentrated on the heels when the doll is upright. While wearing on bolts poses no problem, the hard silicone feet could break through if the doll is too heavy (35 kg or more) or placed on the floor a little violently.
Solutions, above 30 kg, maximum precaution is advised:
- prefer a soft covering such as a yoga mat, a thick carpet, a cushion, etc.
- distribute the weight to balance the mass over the entire surface of the two feet
- move regularly your doll to let little feet decompress before burnout
Soft buttocks - gel implants
Again, nothing new, but in fact it is. Sino Doll was already doing it years ago, but apart from the price, you couldn't really feel the difference. Today, even if we're still a long way from a buttocks wiggling TPE, we must point out that the improvement is significant.
Must have, but not without risk during transport and restrictive in certain positions. Getting a soft bum means accepting the risk that goes with it.
An aside on transport
If you've taken the time to find out, which I strongly recommend you do. Then you've probably heard of dolls whose gel breasts have been flattened in transit. Whether it's an overweight parcel stacked one on top of the other, or an indelicate customs officer, the sweet milk supply will have changed shape.
Solutions do exist for restoring implanted breasts to near-perfect condition, and without the need for knowledge. It's immediately more complicated with gel butts. The problem is that your doll is wearing it the whole way.
Of course, manufacturers are well aware of this and adapt their packages to minimize the risk. Nevertheless, the transport of bulky packages is all too often brutal, and the risk is real.
Starpery turns up the heat
In 2022, Starpery is abandoning the heating system used by most manufacturers. Rightly considered unreliable, the option has been withdrawn in favor of a heated blanket until a few days ago.
Starpery now announces a new internal heating system more efficient and reliable. A heating time of just 30 minutes, compared with 2 - 3 hours for conventional heating systems.
