TPE doll | Permanent Makeup

Reading time: 11 mins

Nothing lasts forever on a TPE doll, especially make-up. The problem is that you and I aren't really artists when it comes to make-up. What's more, we don't necessarily want to deal with it.
Would you like kissable lips that never fade, or only on demand?
You need calcium for your bones and every three feeds you have to get out the brush?

This article is for you!

I explain two techniques for achieving longer-lasting make-up so you don't have to redo everything every three showers. And another method for getting something (almost) totally permanent and long-lasting. résistant même au contact de l'huile. You don't need to be a Leonardo, but this is closer to coloring than to artistic prowess.

Introduction for first-time buyers

You don't have a TPE doll yet and you thought make-up would be here in five years' time? Well, I've got bad news for you. Every time you rub or soap your doll, the make-up areas fade. On some brands, regular use leading to frequent cleaning will have worn off all the make-up within a few months.

You may also want to consider silicone dolls, as the make-up is truly (almost) permanent. You'll hardly ever have to worry about it, which is a great comfort. But goodbye ultra-soft TPE!

Spoiler alert to whet your appetite!

A rather pleasant activity! Paraffin oil has no effect on this make-up, and you'll see why below.

The simple method - Long-lasting make-up

If you don't want to go to the expense and apply the lower method, there's the gentle method. Almost everyone has been saddened to discover a stain on an item of clothing. The stain will sink into the TPE until it becomes diluted and almost invisible. It's the accumulation of repeated stains that will cause the problem, with the TPE turning grey when it was originally white.

The accumulation of colored pigments will dull the body, which is why it's best to remove a stain from the outset. In this way, you'll avoid the accumulation phenomenon that occurs when too many successive stains pile up and change the original color.

This is the concept we'll be betting on for method number 1.

Freshly washed in oil and out of the shower, it was time to revive the make-up that was slowly sinking into the TPE.

Permanent make-up - Method 1, the easiest and least expensive

If clothing colors can sink into your TPE doll, then so can make-up. So we're going to get lipsticks in the form of a palette for a fun color chart. Edible material for safe breastfeeding and without risk for the TPE. And all at an unbeatable price.

Here, you'll find a sample palette with a color chart that will cover most needs. It should be noted, however, that some colors on certain color charts will be difficult, if not impossible, to apply. The greasy product, on an area of the TPE that's probably a little too greasy, will also spread poorly. If you can't apply it evenly and the result is nil, I'd write this color off.

I know, for example, that certain pinks will work perfectly on Ma(ï)ko made by 6YE. But they won't work on Ava, a Piper Doll, and vice versa. Solution : several color panels.

The advantage of lipstick over eyeshadow is twofold:

  • it moisturizes, because of its high oil content when eye shadow dehydrates and nipples are sometimes fragile, depending on their shape
  • It sinks into the TPEwhen the eye shadow remains on the surface, and we're going to exploit this option to increase the durability of the makeup

Seeing their daily faces is a source of pleasure that I haven't yet been able to get enough of - Amazing!

How to apply it?

  • wash your doll, let it dry, then apply lipstick using a small, very fine brush, a disposable eyeshadow applicator or, failing that, your finger. Ideally, you'd prefer the disposable applicator, which I find more effective.
  • apply the color(s) to the desired area(s), tapping, and wait an hour for the lipstick to soak in
  • the color will slowly sink into the TPE, then using your index finger or a fine brush, fade from the inside of the areola outwards

If you've given lipstick enough time to sink into the TPE, then like a stain, it's now part of it. Eventually, it'll come out again, and you'll still need to re-spray from time to time, but much less often. We're talking about reviving, not redoing.

In this video I'm doing a mole, but the spirit is the same for lips or areolas.

The result

The make-up lasted a good year after multiple washings and very few breastfeeds. I've always been careful to avoid the areolas during oil sessions so as not to fade.

This is a disposable eye shadow applicator.

Method 2 - Permanent make-up on TPE

The idea was born while observing the effects of stains. I tested a good cubic meter of clothes for my dolls to make sure that what they were wearing wouldn't rub off on their bodies.

For this, I use strips of TPE that I press under 5 kg for at least 24 hours. If you bought your doll from Ava Love Doll, then you don't need to buy the TPE or silicone samples thatcome with every doll of the same color and brand.

When a sample is saturated with pigments, it stays the same color and the stain becomes permanent. It no longer fades. Based on this principle, it seemed logical that if you applied a thin layer of TPE saturated with a colorant of your choice, then you'd have permanent make-up like a second skin.

And if this second skin can be removed as needed, then you can have make-up that lasts as long as you want it to, and also change it on demand.

The limits of this type of permanent make-up

There's always a but in life, nipping at Madame's nipples like a mad dog will chip away the thin layer of color-saturated skin it will then be easy enough to remove with a fingernail, or even a sprig of F-petrol (available in supermarkets) for the finishing touches.

So you can only massage oil against your doll, suck as much milk as you like. And pour all kinds of lubricants and fluids over her make-up, which shouldn't move an inch! Unless you peel it off ...

Material for permanent make-up on TPE

The preparation and cost is a bit of an investment, but if you have several dolls or can't stand the hassle of redoing areolas, lips and labia majora. If you've got a hankering for raised moles, then it's well worth the effort. All you need is :

The investment is around 350 euros.

Safety first !

3M94 primer is toxic to the body and nature, and potentially flammable. Safety glasses and gloves are recommended. Work in a well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition.

Before drinking the milk

Sucking on 3M94 is definitely not recommended for your health. Give yourself plenty of time before putting your mucous membranes there! Leave your doll in the open air for several days to allow the primer smell to evaporate completely, then give her a shower.

How do you make the spray solution?

The concept is simple: first dissolve TPE with 3M94 primer to obtain a milky consistency. If it's too thick, you'll clog the airbrush.

In a bottle containing a few millilitres of 3M94, place small pieces of TPE cut with scissors. The smaller the pieces, the faster they dissolve. For all my tests, I used TPEs in the same colors as my dolls and of the same brand.

Shake from time to time to speed up the process; it takes a few hours to obtain the desired solution. You might be tempted to dissolve in xylene too, as it would be much quicker. Tests show that 3M94 and its ability to adhere to surfaces, even greasy ones, are better than those dissolved in xylene. Make-up - the second skin lasts much longer and is a little more resistant to nibbling.

Finally, add the eye shadow of the desired color and shake. If too thick, add more 3M94, if too liquid, add small pieces of TPE.

Here's the consistency you're looking for on video.

3M94 primer is a highly flammable product, so be sure to work safely.

Taking realism a step further

You might consider adding three successive layers to an areola to achieve something even more realistic. The nipple is the lightest area, the beginning of the areola is the darkest and the circumference of the areola is between the first two shades. The technique is similar for labia.

I've made myself a complete color panel to spray all situations.

Learn to spray in 10 minutes

You don't need to be a body painter to make superb lips or areolas, just practice on a piece of paper to feel the tool and appreciate the ideal distance. Depending on the pressure you put on the airbrush and the distance, you'll spray more or less broadly and densely.

If you spray too hard and too close, you'll get a mediocre result.

Crucial tips to know

As you can see from the photos, the colors are extremely bright and the result too garish. When sprayed, the color doesn't immediately reach its full potential, and the painted area can appear too pale. So I tend to add (too much). It takes a few hours for the color to reveal itself, so it's advisable to spray a small layer first. Then wait to see the result in a few hours. Add more if necessary. A succession of small coats is better than one big one. Second-skin make-up will hold better with several small coats.

A succession of small layers is better than a single thick layer. Second-skin make-up will hold up better with several small layers.

How do I remove this make-up?

Like a sticker, you're going to look for the edge of the layer and try to peel it off. Once flaked, the second skin will start to pellet and peel off in patches. To polish up the surface and get it perfectly clean, you can use a microfiber or a paper towel soaked in petrol F or xylene. Simply sweep over the color to loosen.

Make sure you quickly rinse the area in doubt so as not to damage your loved one's skin with solvents.

Going even further

I haven't even touched on pigmentation, the little blood vessels that dot the body or even around the eyes, which require real skill in color selection and application. With an airbrush, it's possible to obtain small, diffuse spatters that can give pigmentation to the whole body in shades of green, blue, pink, red or brown.

Perhaps you'd like to give it a try? If so, don't hesitate to tell us about it in the comments. I'll leave you with this video of airbrush make-up application, and I'm sorry in advance if I'm in front of the camera. On that note, happy make-up!

  1. Hello,

  1. Hello,
